HISTORY (His Story) Donald Clark - Founder

You will meet a procession of prophets coming down from the high place with musical instruments and they will be prophesying.  The Spirit of the Lord will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them; and you will be changed into a different person…for God is with you. (I Samuel 10:5-7)

Crossroads Ministries (Publications) was born in 1978 on the campus of Houston Christian University. Though raised in a church going family and attending the required chapel once a week at the university, Donald Clark was an agnostic at the time. “Why should I believe in something or someone I have never experienced or met?” was his thinking. The greatest loves, the gods of his life up until that eventful day had been himself, family, athletics, his girlfriend(s), and knowledge, all of which were socially acceptable idols. He was lost and missing the foundation and most important love relationship he needed to be whole - Jesus.

One night he attended a Christian concert held on campus. People were singing, raising their hands in worship and holding hands, all of which made him very uncomfortable. He was a sociology major just observing.

Walking home alone from the concert, he had an awakening vision of Jesus. It was THE crossroad of his life which eternally changed him. He knew God was real. A peace and love filled him that passed all understanding. He was changed into a different person, just as Saul was in I Samuel 10 in the Bible.

Without reciting the sinner’s prayer or going to a church and making a public confession, he simply began following Jesus. He began reading the Bible and discovered the Sermon on the Mount. Jesus’ unconditional love and teaching became the eternal foundation upon which he began to and continues to build his life.

Soon after this vision, he began singing and learned to play the guitar for the first time in his life. Prior to this point, he would not even sing along with the radio or in the shower. The Lord then began to give him prophetic songs, poetry, visions, and parables to share and minister to individuals and groups of people which he has continued to do for over 45 years in his neighborhood, places of employment, churches and music ministries of which he has been a part.

After 33 years teaching and 33 years leading a Christian Educators network in the Houston area, the Lord has assigned him, over the next 33 years, to collect, record, organize and publish the many works of art the Lord has given him as well as the inspired works of others. It is his hope and prayer that the songs, devotionals, poetry, visions, prayers, testimonies and parables will help feed others’ souls, heal them and eternally connect them to Jesus as he once was by a group of Christian musicians so long ago.

Thank you, Jesus, for the Patreon platform, through which he can complete this assignment.
